It's been so long since I've sat down and wrote up a Monday Edit (or any post for that matter) so I'm really looking forward to sharing a little update on what's been going on!
the lineup
We arrived back home last night after spending the weekend in Berkeley with Nathaniel's parents. We had a fun weekend celebrating Nathaniel's birthday from last week, touring the Museum of Ice Cream in San Francisco, and just spending quality time with family and friends catching up. Of course we couldn't make the trip without hitting up a few of our favorite spots in town, Indian Rock for the most amazing views of both the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge, Rick and Ann's for breakfast, and Fog Harbor for fresh fish and drinks to name a few. There's something about that city, I've mentioned it in my stories on Instagram before, it will forever have a special place in my heart. There's nothing quite like it; I would choose that city over and over again. I'm so grateful we were able to go back and visit! I'll be sharing more about what we did and what I packed/wore and lots of pictures (basically all the good stuff) later this week, so keep an eye out for that!
what I've been loving
Editing has been a new found hobby that I've been taking up as of recently. At the beginning of January I discovered an app called Pic Collage which I found through another blogger Talia Hubble on tandtour.com. If you've been following along here you've probably seen a couple of the collages that I've shared here and here. With this app, you really have full creative control with adding stickers, texts, and background images. The best part about it is, it's free! As far as editing single photo shots go, I've been learning more and more about Lightroom and playing around with bringing out certain color tones and lighting. I've learned quite a bit from different youtubers and videos on different editing styles, and I can't wait to learn more!
what's been on replay
Spotify has been so good to me the last few weeks! I've been discovering new music a lot lately which is great but, when I find a song that I like, I usually end up downloading and playing it nonstop until I'm so sick of the song I can't stand it, anyone else? No? Cool, ok! I've been sharing my top picks on my Instagram stories a lot more recently some of which included Back to What I Know by Neil Frances and Live Well by Palace.
what's on the menu
I've been having a lot of fun experimenting with different recipes and trying my hand at a couple homemade goods the last few weeks. In the last month, I've made homemade cinnamon rolls, bagels, and oddly enough testing out new salad recipes! There's something so satisfying about waking up in the morning, sitting outside, feet up, with a cup of chai and a fresh cinnamon roll in your hand. If I could spend all my mornings outside like that! Most mornings I try to spend a few minutes outside while I enjoy my tea, and just soak up the sun. It reminds me of summertime when my brother, mom and I would sit outside on the porch with our breakfast and take a few minutes of the day to just reflect and enjoy the beauty. One of my favorite things about living in California, for sure, is being able to relive similar moments this time of the year with that gorgeous sun beaming down, it's a great way to start out the day on the right foot!
I hope you all have a fabulous week!
XOXO,
Latisha
